At the "Door" to BT Chat:

• Username (Handle): A Username or Handle is required for BT Chat. Type your Username in the Username text box. Usernames are from 1 to 10 characters of letters and numbers only.

• Password: Passwords are optional in BT Chat. However, if you wish to keep your Username for your use only, you must password protect it by putting a password in the password text box. Passwords are 1 to 10 characters of letters and numbers only.

• Enter: After typing in your Username and optional password you can just click the "Door" ... but you can input your Username or Handle with HTML treatments and picture URL as noted below at the door before you enter so you're already dressed and ready to chat *G*

Once Inside BT Chat:

• Send a post: Notice the large textbox near the bottom of the screen. Type your "post" (message) into that box. When done press the "Get/Send" button. To get new posts simply press the "Get/Send" button. To make a new line within your post press the "Enter" key of your keyboard. Two "Enters" will give you a blank line separating the text in your posts.

• Change Your Handle: Your Handle is the name you are represented by. To change it simply put a new name that you make up in the "Your Handle" box. To change the color, size or style of your Handle you can add HTML to it or use the drop-down boxes to pick your colors and sizes for your Handle and text.

• Scroll Back: (see posts you missed) If there are some posts that you missed or you simply wish to see them again, you can scroll back. Put the number of posts you would like to look back in the scroll back box and press the "Get/Send" button.

• See pictures: Make sure there is a check-mark in the "Show pic" box.

• Change your picture: Put the URL of the picture in the "picture URL box." It should look something like this - "http://www.bottomtime.net/BTLogo.gif" (See TnT for tutorial on Pics.)

• Find a picture: Use your favorite search engine to find a website with pictures you like. Right click on the picture and select the option that says "View Image." In the Location Box at the top of your Browser you will see the URL for the image. To use it just copy it.

• Clickable Link: To Post a "button" that someone can click on to go to a webpage, put the URL of the link in the "textbox." It will look something like this - "http://www.bottomtime.net/TNT.HTML"

• The "Plaintext" box: For putting in HTML instructions that you want to show as text (not HTML tags) so you can show others how to change their fonts, etc. In the Plaintext box an URL is shown as text rather than as a "button."
